Part 1 - The idea was born

In the beginning of 2022 the idea was born to make a series of short horror/drama movies about the folklore myths and stories of Sweden. I was always fascinated by folklore tales and when I started to get into filmmaking it was a natural choice for me. The first story that I started to develop was about the spirit of the forest, called “Skogsrå”, which is a theme that is referenced in many stories and it's really interesting and exciting in many aspects. In the early stages of my research I came across the podcast “När man talar om trollen”. This is a podcast connected to a page called Oknytt and it’s about folk beliefs, mythology and traditions. Oknytt's Lars Wahlström, together with Tommy Kuusela, PhD in religious history, discuss Nordic beings, myths and legends. Their knowledge and enthusiasm really was the spark for this project to begin for real. Together with my good friend Håkan Nilsson we started to discuss some of my ideas for a story and soon enough we started writing a script.
That was how it all started and at that point I thought it would be a small production and I would film everything by myself, but that wasn’t the case :)…
